Kids and Teen Programs

Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto is known in the cancer community as a leader in programming for children and teens.
Our unique program for children and youth is highly valued by the families who participate, and health care professionals in the community.
Programs are professionally facilitated by Child Life Specialists, Social Workers and dedicated volunteers.
Our children and youth programs are specifically designed to meet children’s needs when cancer is part of their lives.

Super Sundays

Super Sundays are family events that take place once per month either at the clubhouse or they could be an organized outing. Super Sunday events provide families an opportunity to experience recreational activities, fun, learning and social time to connect with other families at Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto.


Kids Programs

Kids Talk Out

Tuesdays at 6:30pm – 8:00pm

Kids Talk Out is for children who currently have someone in their life who has cancer. This program aims to reach young people living with cancer in the family by offering an adult-led peer support program for children ages 4 to 12. Using a variety of art activities, engaging games and interactive fun, children are able ask questions, express difficult feelings, and share common experiences.

Kids Grieve Too

Thursdays at 6:30pm – 8:00pm

Kids Grieve Too is a weekly adult led peer support group which aims to provide kids ages 4-12 who are remembering someone who has died of cancer, a chance to talk with other kids about cancer and death, and how it has affected them and their family. Using a variety of activities, children are able to receive support, ask questions, express difficult feelings and share common experiences with other kids who have experienced a similar loss.

Teen Programs

Teens Filming Ourselves

Tuesdays at 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Join Raymund & Facundo for Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto’s Teens Filming Ourselves adventure!!

Filming Ourselves is a unique multi- faceted digital storytelling experience for teens whose lives have been touched by cancer to promote creativity, self confidence, self expression and peer support.

This 6-month program culminates in a spectacular showcase at the end of June. Find your voice in this safe, no pressure environment.

With hands on filming, photography, and fashion, with a dash of performance poetry, you will learn a lot and have fun!
This program is designed for teens ages 11 – 19 whose lives have been touched by cancer.
