Dani Taylor joined Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto in September, 2017 as a social work intern, before being invited to join the staff permanently in November, 2017. Dani holds a Bachelor of the Arts in English Literature and a Bachelor of Social Work, both from York University. Dani is heavily involved in cancer support, specifically with an emphasis on incorporating medical anthropology and anti-oppressive practice while engaging in Social Work. Before joining Gilda’s, she taught theatre for children, teens, and young adults while also working in arts-focused marketing. She is the recipient of the Harry Newman Foundation Bachelor of Social Work Award, the Avie Bennett Prize for Canadian Literature, and the Tamara Gordon Foundation Scholarship. Dani has volunteered extensively with Princess Margaret Hospital, Young Adult Cancer Canada, Imerman Angels, and Colon Cancer Canada.
