Camp in the City Volunteers Needed:

Process: Inquire and submit a resume to email@example.com. Selected individuals will be interviewed. These time lines are in place, as we require a cleared vulnerable person's police check prior to starting your role (they take 3-6 weeks on average). We will accept a vulnerable person's police check from candidates if within 6 months from another school or organization.
If selected for an interview, forms will be sent to you for completion, including an application and references.
Candidates offered a role following the interview will have to complete a vulnerable person's police check form (we will provide), and must be available to attend the Camp Orientation and Training on either Tuesday June 19th or Thursday June 21st 6-8pm.

Purpose: Volunteers are needed to help make a difference in the lives of children touched by cancer by providing support during one of 3 weeks at Camp in the City, held during the month of July at Gilda's Club Greater Toronto.
Number of Volunteers, Dates, Hours and Duties: (Camps are held over three weeks)
-2 volunteers per day are needed for the Teen Leadership Camp from Tuesday July 3 - Friday July 6th (approx. hours 9-5pm).
-5 volunteers per day for Kids Camp from Monday July 9th - Friday July 13th (approx. hours 8-4:30pm) Volunteers will act as 'buddies' to children aged 4-12 while they attend this day camp. Assisting with activities and attending outings throughout the city.
-5 Volunteers per day for Tween Camp Monday July 16th - Friday July 20th (approx. hours 8-4:30pm) Volunteers support 'tweens' ages 9-13 while they attend this day camp. Assisting with activities and attending outings throughout the city.
-reliable, punctual and able to commit to the camp week
-initiative, high level of energy and enthusiasm to help with programs, trips, snack preparation -ability to take direction and interact well with others -must enjoy children/teens -experience in childcare or camp leadership preferred -proven effective communication skills with children and youth. -First aid training an asset
